At 7:19 pm, Eli called Fireburndoctor just one minute after burning her left hand with scalding-hot water. Her pain level was 4 (out of 0-10). She called again 47 minutes later to say, "it's better. It's gone from where it was before to a half to a 1 on the contact area, very minimal discomfort. It's still sensitive to the touch, but the color has faded."
She reported that right after the FBD Team returned her first call she felt, "I don't know how else to describe it, I felt the heat discharging. I didn't put anything on it to be sure to not interfere, and thank you so much. I'm grateful, and grateful to my girlfriend who told me about you."
Eli G., Alabama, 12/28/09
"At 6:13 pm, Central Time, Ani called fireburndoctor about her tongue which had been "seared" by French fries or chips straight out of the oven. Her pain was a 4 or 5 on a scale of 0 to 10. Just 33 minutes later, she called FBD to say, "You did some work on my tongue. I would say ... the pain level is not even a 1. It's still a little raw and a little sensitive, but I'm not needing the ice on it, so thank you very, very much."Ani D., Kansas, 12/28/09
At 1:31 pm, EST, one minute after 5-year old Lyn burned her finger on a hot iron, her mom called FBD. On a scale of 0 to 10, Lyn's pain level was a 5 according to her mom, but her dad thought it was a 7. Just 42 minutes later, Lyn's mom called back to say, "It's much better. Doesn't seem like she's in any pain at all. She's eating and watching TV."Lyn W, Kentucky, 12/27/09
Eve called Fireburndoctor at 4:04 pm, PST, with burned knuckles from the oven. She stated she was skeptical , but gave her full name, birthdate and birthplace, anyway, saying there was no risk in trying and that her pain level was a 3. Forty six minutes after her call, she reported that the pain level was still a 3, but the burned area was tingling... There is a slight red mark but not so noticable." One hour after that, she said, "...thank you. Yes, the pain is gone. Thank you... thank you very much and Merry Christmas and a happy New Year."Eve R., California, 12/24/09
Lori called Fireburndoctor within a couple minutes after pouring "hot water hit my wrist, real bad." Her pain level was a 6 or 7 across a 3 to 4 inch burn. She called back 30 minutes later to say, "It's been half an hour since you started working on my hand. The pain is gone... or on my wrist.. The pain is gone. The wrist is red and the skin is a little bit tight. It look's like it's getting lighter by the minute, and the pain is completely gone. Thank you... Thank you."Lori F., Louisiana, 12/23/09
At 7:30 pm, Central Time, 22 minutes after the burn, Mike called Fireburndoctor with a burn to his right hand and right knee and a pain level of 4 to 5 out of 10. One hour and five minutes later, Mike reported that "the knee and the hand are both a lot less red. No blisters or anything, nothing like second degree. The knee doesn't hurt quite like it used to, not just a little better, it's a lot better."Mike M., Texas, 12/20/09
At 6:43 am, PST, Lily's boyfriend called Fireburndoctor 23 minutes after Lily had poured 200 degree wax over the whole back of her hand and up the arm halfway to the elbow. The pain was an 8, with immediate blistering and bleeding where several layers of skin scraped away. An hour after calling Fireburndoctor, Lily reported that she had taken the ice off and the pain had fallen to 3-4 and the bleeding had stopped.
Lily's boyfriend emailed her report: "Hi! first let me apologize for the lateness of my reply. Thank you so much for helping. Lily is doing much better. She burned her hand and wrist by dumping 200 degree wax over it while making candles. She immediately ran cold water over it which, of course, hardened the wax effectively creating a cast, her flesh baking inside. She was in intense pain, and within minutes began blistering. She could stand the pain only by applying an ice pack. It was a little over a half hour by the time I called you. About fortyfive minutes later the pain had subsided and she could remove the ice pack. It left several small blisters, but the pain never returned. I don't know how you did it, but it didn't happen on its own, so you must be responsible!
Thank you again so much, and keep up the good work!"
Lily G., Washington, 12/18/09
At 8:00 pm, EST 9 year old Trailblazer II touched a hot stove-top burner with his left hand. Six minutes after his dad called Fireburndoctor, the boy told his dad that it didn't hurt at all and said, "It feels weird." The pain was gone and his dad said there was no more redness or any visible trace of the burn. On 12/20 Trailblazer (uncle of Trailblazer II) texted the Fireburndoctor Team to say his nephew's "results seem as though it worked. Thank you and the whole burn results seem as though it worked. Thank you and the whole burn team. You are doing God's work indeed."Trailblazer II, Ohio, 12/15/09
